Bargo River Viaduct

The Bargo River Viaduct area is nestled amidst native bushland, offering a serene escape for nature lovers and outdoor enthusiasts. This picturesque spot is perfect for exploring the natural surroundings, enjoying leisurely walks, paddling in the river, or relaxing with a scenic picnic.

Conveniently located between Tahmoor and Bargo, the viaduct is accessible via Fire Road No. P1 on Bargo River Road in Tahmoor. 
 

Wollondilly Community Leisure Centre

Enjoy cooling off during the warmer months in an outdoor 50 metre seasonal pool with 7 lanes and outdoor lawn area. Indoor facilities include a 25 metre pool, activities pool, two court indoor stadium, gymnasium and kiosk.  

Wollondilly Community Leisure Centre is located at 434 Argyle St, Picton. 

Douglas Park Gorge

To the south of Douglas Park, the Nepean River winds through a picturesque rocky gorge. The causeway crossing the river on Douglas Park Drive is a popular spot for swimming, canoeing, and picnics.

The best way to appreciate the rugged beauty of this area is by driving between Douglas Park and Appin, where the open road takes you over the Nepean River, offering stunning views.

For convenient access, there is ample parking at the Nepean River Reserve near Menangle. Alternatively, you can visit the Douglas Park Weir, which features a smaller parking area for visitors.

Warragamba Swimming Pool

  
Enjoy the best of rural swimming and basking in the sun surrounded by bushland and wildlife at Warragamba Pool. The main pool is 25 meters long and kept at the perfect temperature for the comfort of swimmers.

Warragamba Pool is only a short 25 minute drive from Penrith and Narellan and a great spot to experience a country style pool and a fun family day out.

Thirlmere Lakes

Thirlmere Lakes National Park is named for its 5 freshwater lakes, which are thought to be around 15 million years old. Please note there's no swimming or canoeing in the lakes when water levels are low. Visit the NSW National Parks website for further visitor information. 

The main entry to Thirlmere Lakes is via Pumphouse Road, and parking is at Werri Berri picnic area. 

Barrallier Park Water Play

If you want to take the kids somewhere fun on warmer days, check out the Barrallier Park Water Play facility on Burragorang Street, The Oaks. It's open from 10am to 7pm, seven days a week, September to March. 

On occasion, the facility will be unavailable due to necessary scheduled maintenance, so remember to have a look at Wollondilly Shire Council's website here to check the status before you go.
